Tangerine customer service is available by phone and live chat during extended business hours — but not 24/7. The main phone number is 1-888-826-4374 (1-888-Tangerine), available Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to midnight ET and Saturday to Sunday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM ET.

For urgent after-hours situations (lost or stolen card), lock the card in the Tangerine app immediately — then call when service opens.

Lost or Stolen Tangerine Card: Step-by-Step

  1. Open the Tangerine app → go to Card Controls → toggle to Locked. This blocks all new transactions immediately.
  2. Review recent transactions in the app for any unauthorised activity and note the details.
  3. Call 1-888-826-4374 during service hours to report the card lost/stolen and request a replacement.
  4. Report any fraudulent transactions to the agent — Tangerine will initiate a dispute process.
  5. A replacement card is mailed within approximately 5–10 business days.

There is no 24-hour emergency card cancellation line separate from the main number. The app card lock is your first line of protection after hours.

OBSI is the external complaint body for Tangerine. It can recommend that Tangerine pay compensation up to $350,000. OBSI review is free to the consumer and typically takes 2–4 months. As a Scotiabank subsidiary, Tangerine clients cannot escalate to Scotiabank’s complaint process — use OBSI for external escalation.
