Setting Up Autodeposit

Autodeposit allows incoming e-Transfers to be deposited automatically — no security question required from the sender.

  1. Log in to National Bank online banking
  2. Go to Interac e-TransferAutodeposit Settings (or profile settings)
  3. Register your email address or phone number
  4. Confirm via the verification link sent to that email/phone

Once active, anyone who sends an e-Transfer to your registered email or phone will see the funds deposit directly to your National Bank account without requiring you to accept manually.

For Large Transfers: Wire and EFT Options

When amounts exceed the $10,000 daily e-Transfer cap:

MethodTimelineFeeTypical Limit
e-TransferMinutes$0–$1.00$10,000/day
EFT (linked account transfer)1–3 business days$0Higher amounts
Domestic wireSame day$20.00Very high
International wire1–3 business days$25–$40Very high

For payroll, real estate deposits, or other large transfers, the EFT linked account option is typically the most cost-effective. Wire transfers provide same-day settlement where urgency justifies the fee.
